Retreat Report (pdf)

Participant List (pdf)

We would like to thank the participants for their outstanding efforts at this retreat. A report of their work including recommendations is being prepared and will be sent to the three senior Vice Presidents, Dr. Fouke, Dr Barrett, Dr Cheek, and Interim CIO Dr. Hoit for review and consideration. The report will then be posted to this site.

Retreat Overview: The UF Administration is committed to an open and collaborative approach to Information Technology (IT) planning.  We are organizing a one-day retreat in order to begin this process.  Individuals that represent all of the colleges, major operational units and organizations throughout the UF community have been invited to participate in and contribute to this retreat.

The purpose of the retreat is to begin the work of identifying the effective support needs for the missions and business processes of our colleges and units relating to information technology support and of developing a process for formulating responsive strategic IT goals for the university.  This initial planning retreat will focus on IT governance and services.  Recommendations will also be generated that address prioritization and specific next steps.

Participants are expected to bring an overall knowledge and understanding of the information and data needs of their faculty, staff, and students. Participants will be knowledgeable regarding their culture, academic structures, business processes and other functional operations in order to effectively represent their organizations.

Results from the retreat will be posted once it is complete.

Any questions about representation can be directed to Interim CIO Mark Hoit.
