LDAP
Rationale
Designed as a publishing interface for the Directory Project in 2001-2003, the LDAP service is a standards-compliant interface to some of the most commonly accessed data about people in the UF community.
Goals
- Open access to common data, using open standards. Special emphasis on I2 consortium standards eduPerson and eduOrg.
- Refine complex and nuanced internal data representations into succinct and utilitarian interfaces.
- Publishing interface only: No data to be uniquely resident in the LDAP service.
