Strategic Planning at UF
The IT strategic planning effort is to align IT resources with the University mission. This on-going process involves a broad range of individuals from the university community and a formal advisory structure.
This continued effort has been in place for nearly a decade and has resulted in substantial changes and improvements to IT at UF. The first major effort was started in 2000 and led to the Office of Information Technology in 2001. This was followed immediately by the first IT Strategic Plan that with continued revision and participation of the Information Technology Advisory Council Committes (Academic Technology, Data Infrastructure and Computing and Networking) set the blueprint for realizing core IT services for the next eight years.
In addition to the creation of UF IT from the existing OIT and other related units, the most recent effort brought about significant changes that reflect addressing new needs and opportunities as well as the desire to create a collaborative and transparent governance structure for IT. Major strategic and action planning reports at UF are shown below with the most recent effort at the top of the list.
