Why is brand important?
The UFIT brand is our ‘calling card’ for campus… and beyond. UF Information Technology staff interact with students, faculty, IT and non-IT staff, university executives, research scientists at peer institutions, vendors, alumni, and federal and state agency staff on a daily basis. It is important that the information we provide is delivered in a consistent format. A consistent content style and format will serve to unite us as a division in the eyes of the diverse constituents we serve.
What is UFIT’s brand?
UFIT’s brand is both thematic and visual.
Themes (core concepts) UFIT embodies include:
- UFIT Supports UF’s Mission of Teaching, Research, and Service
- UFIT Provides Value for the University
- UFIT is Innovative
- UFIT is Efficient
- UFIT is Responsive
UFIT staff strives to exhibit good university and community citizenship in all professional and personal interactions.
Visually, we reinforce the UFIT theme by:
- Presenting a united division to the university and worldwide: we are one ‘UFIT’, not ‘UF IT’.
- Using UFIT templates for documentation.

- When emailing customers external to UFIT (on- or off-campus) the preferred email signature components are:

Recognizing that a significant portion of university business is conducted on Mobile devices with limited screen space, UFIT staff are not required to use this full email signature.
The email signature standard serves as a guideline ‘best practice’ so UFIT customers receive consistent information from staff throughout the division.
Omissions to email signature content are permissible.
