UF Risk Assessment Policy Impacts IT Purchases

UF’s Risk Management policy now impacts technology purchases in order to explore possible threats and vulnerabilities. Purchases impacted by the policy include (but are not limited to) software, including license renewals and equipment with pre-installed software, hardware such as servers and computing devices, any computing storage technology that will hold UF data, and services such as the cloud. Purchasing any of these or other technology items requires a Risk Assessment, which is a comprehensive information gathering procedure involving multiple units of the university.
