A lot of personal information is stored in your banking, shopping, and entertainment smartphone apps. Before downloading an app, check its legitimacy and review the app’s privacy settings. Many apps access photos, contacts, and your location unless you choose not to allow access. One of the best ways to protect your personal information is by creating strong passwords. When UFIT asked students what types of passwords they used, pet names were very common! However, strong passwords are made up of a combination of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols.
